"When I met my husband, he told me, we are not having kids, I don’t like them, so we went about life collecting dogs to satisfy any parental notions we had but with something that could use a dog door.
We were happily married DINKS (double income no kids) when My husband was diagnosed with NonHodgkins Lymphoma and was in Stage 3, he had one of the most aggressive forms, if you didn’t respond to treatment it would certainly kill you.
But somehow he kicked it before it could kill him.
All of a sudden he looked me in the eye and said I want to have kids. It would be nearly impossible for us to conceive naturally and very slim with any intervention due to his recent cancer and also prior cancer.
We went to a fertility specialist, tried, failed. Oh well, it’s the only the first attempt right?
We went again, tried, failed, this time it felt personal and I cried.
Third time, this was it, our last hoorah, it probably wouldn’t work anyway our chances were slim to none and we were running out of money to keep trying. We went again, tried and this time it felt very personal and my husband cried…we were pregnant with two!
When the girls were borned, my husband was such a proud father, he escorted them from the delivery room to the nursery where he got a call while holding his new daughters.
It was his mom’s doctor, she has Leukemia and she does not have long to live.
10 days later his mom passed away and all that could comfort him was the warmth of his babies.
His mom lived long enough to see her baby have babies which was the miracle she had been praying for, for so long.
Sometimes life has a way of righting the wrongs and coming full circle, we may not understand it at first but there is always a purpose for everything that happens.

K- so i just went to Chicky Bella yesterday and they have the most adorable new collection. I bought some outfits for one of my good friends. I can't show it until she get's it because I know she checks my blog. love ya brett!

It reminds me of the baby version of units, if you remember that, just TONS better!!

Beautiful Lives

If you noticed I changed the blog title to incorporate so many more things. I still believe in "It is what it is" completely and really Beautiful Lives goes right along with it... but when Heather mentioned this Title for our new book I fell in LOVE with it, and it was everything I was going for in my thougths on the book. I just could not put it all together... it also so happens to be just the right fit I was looking for as a business.

BEAUTIFUL is so many things and so much more than we know!

This family is so fun to photograph. You can just feel the love in the pictures everywhere! Not to mention how adorable they are!

Book Project

K- so I had this thought four years ago.... funny how life happens. Anyway the thought will not leave me alone... so it is becoming a reality :) Everyone has a story and I love hearing and learning about peoples life's. For me that is one of the reasons what life is about. As I have moved around my whole life, I have meet so many wonderful people who have influenced my life. The cultures and environments we live in are so very different from Country, to State, to Cities even communities for that matter. It seems the sub cultures with in sub cultures are every where. The mix we all bring to the table is what I love about life. We are all so different and have so much to offer one another.

We will be working on this together and we are so excited about the possibilities. She will bring so much to the table that I am not capable of- one writting :)

I am so excited to be offering these. Jessica is amazing! For those of you wondering how this works... I take the original photo and send it off to her and she creates. Yes, you can use any picture I take of your family, friends, loved ones etc. You can either get them printed on canvas for a more Fine Art look or the standard print. This is such a great article and I have decided to implement my own "Day in the Life" package as well. It will include 6 photo sessions (per year) of your choice of location. Examples could be at a Birthday Celebration, Special occasion, or just hanging out at the park etc. with in a 60 mile radius (additional travel will incur additional expense) .
